A message from the Minister for Employment and Small Business - COVID-19

Good Morning,

I know that small businesses across the state are hurting right now.

I want you to know that as Queensland’s Small Business Minister, along with my Department of Employment, Small Business and Training, are here to help in whatever way we can.

I have been speaking with businesses across the state as they look at ways to stay open and operating during this unprecedented crisis.

Yesterday, the Palaszczuk Government announced a $4 billion economic relief package. It includes payroll tax refunds and a payroll tax holiday, energy and rent support and assistance for workers who have been displaced by this crisis.

This latest announcement builds on our initial industry support package and our $500 million loan fund which has already received 8,000 expressions of interest.

We have also established our small business support hotline: 1300 654 687 which provides one on one support and advice for businesses.

Further information about all the support that is available can be found on our website www.business.qld.gov.au.

We will do everything we can to support Queenslanders during this crisis.

Kind Regards,

Shannon Fentiman
